Case Study's Newest Cafe In North East Portland!

With three locations and catering around the area, Case Study Coffee is smashing it in Portland, OR. Growing from a small coffee catering business to now roasting there own coffee, growing with a never ending talented crew.

Moving to Portland was a decision driven in the pursuit of good coffee. Portland culture of different food, beer and coffee is next to none and I had to explore more. When first moving to Portland, I stayed with some friends next to the Case Study in Hollywood. After coming in everyday I befriended one of there baristas, Marshall Steves. His knowledge and curiosity of the coffee world interested me. We ended up hanging out and visiting some of the best coffee shops around the Portland area and adventuring through out the state of Oregon. If you go through some of my older blog post photographs you can probably pick him out.

"What really attracks me to Case Study is the focus on experience. It's about the coffee and passion, but its also about the experience. The spaces, baristas and attention to detail in every single drink and interaction."  - Marshall Steeves, Case Study Coffee Barista.

Marshall is just one of the awesome baristas at Case Study. They seem to attract people that are detail oriented and invested in the origins of the product they put out. You can reconize that Case Study has a high bar in quality by there earlier picks of which roasters to feature before roasting there own. Some of Portland's top roasters from Heart to Coava and even Sterling. Now, three shops deep, they roast there own coffee now rising amongst some of the best coffee in the Pacific Northwest.

Out of all three locations I have to say that there Alberta location is my favorite. Its a hard choice since there Sandy shop was my first experience and downtown is always booming and has some amazing natural light. If you are looking for a killer open shop Alberta Case Study is where its at. Its combination of seating inside, outside in front, outside on the side and up stairs gives a great variation and never gets old. Plus, I'm a sucker for a good community table. This shop is such a open air feel since you are practically outside with there massive garage door at the front witch is practically the second front door. You can tell tons of good thought went into building this beautiful space by the wood work, positioning of espresso bar tools and general esthetic.

Overall you can't go wrong with any Case Study. They all put out a consistently great product at every single location.
